I do telecommute-based contract work for $40/hour.For small stuff, I can generally give a fixed quote. I'll install most Perl/CGI scripts on your server for a flat fee of $50, with customization for your site (eg, HTML template modifications). This would include stuff like form mailers, or form to single HTML page updater scripts, or site search scripts or ???.If you have something in place and it works, and want it to do something more or different, it might be easy, I'd have to look at the code and think about it. Design work is always much more time consuming than modifying existing applications. Potential clients who think I can cook up web applications such as Web Tool in a few hours, take note: I've been working on Web Tool for almost two years now (part-time). Full-time, I'd estimate about two to three months of work has gone into it. I always look to free open source applications before trying to code anything myself. Complex Perl/CGI interfaces with SQL backends are time consuming to build from the ground up. |
