Perl suffers from it's own culture and a code base that is sometimes embarassing. Here's all the reasons why I think Perl has problems.

But it's a great language that's still the best solution for applications. If you need dynamic web site content, Perl is still one of the best / cheapest / fastest way to implement it.

In short, Perl rules.
